Thais Català studied Cinematography at the University of Barcelona, ESCAC (Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Catalunya), graduating in 2013. Since 2014, she has been working professionally as a Director of Photography.

Today, Thais Català works across feature films, commercials, documentaries and music videos. Among her recent work are award-winning short films like Harta, the feature film Unicornios, and music videos for artists such as Cora Novoa.

She is represented by the agency PlanB and is also an active member of the Spanish collective «Directoras de Fotografía», which promotes the visibility and work of women cinematographers in Spain. Occasionally, she also works as an underwater operator on feature films and commercials.

Thais is passionate about capturing the subtle details that often go unnoticed. She believes that the art of cinematography has the power to reveal hidden beauty simply by changing perspective. Her work is driven by this intention: to discover and share beauty wherever it may be found.
